"I feel pain when I see the other viticulturists who do not get the benefits of the Fair Trade, as we do within the cooperative."
"My family depends on the vineyards and we must do our best possible with our available resources."
Jaime B., Grower - Step by Step
Step by Step Sauvignon Blanc

Maule Valley, Chile
Fair Trade Certified™ - Fair Trade Wine
Step by Step, we all can make a difference.
Step by Step is sourced from a cooperative farming community in the southern part of the Maule Valley in Chile. The small family farmers of Chile are increasingly susceptible to the low market prices of their grapes as the world demand increases. The prices they receive for their grapes do not generate enough income to meet the basic needs of the family. As a result, the opportunity to invest in improving their farms and vineyards are threatened and many are at risk of having to sell their property.
As with many vineyards and wineries in the global south, access to healthcare is a major issue. Many of the vineyards are in rural areas with little or no healthcare available. Double up Fair Trade is the commitment to improve the healthcare for all the members and their immediate families.
With every glass of Step by Step you can directly help the grower, their community and the environment. Step by Step, we all can make a difference.
Tasting Notes
This bright, delicious Sauvignon Blanc unveils a mix of fresh grapefruit and lime aromas with tropical fruit on the palate, brilliant acidity and a delightfully, lingering finish.
Vineyards
Step by Step Sauvignon Blanc is Fair Trade Certified™ from grapes sourced from 15-year-old vines planted in clay loam with a Mediterranean sub-climate. The grapes were hand harvested at peek ripeness then cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to maintain the bright fruit flavors. Minimal aging on the lees softened and rounded out the wine providing balance to the naturally bright fruit acids. The combination of vineyard location and age, trellis system, and Fair Trade Certified™ make this wine one of the best examples Chile has to offer.
